About Karyn
I grew up in California but have lived in Thurston County since the mid 1990’s. My formal education has taken a long time – obtained while I was working full time and when my husband and I were raising our two children - and includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from City University as well as two associate degrees from South Puget Sound Community College in Database Management and Computer Programming. I have had varied and interesting accounting jobs, for a local siding company, a bank, Weyerhaeuser, the State of Washington (at DSHS, Department of Revenue and Department of Financial Institutions), a long stint with a great local law firm, and most recently for a tribal brewery/distillery as their accounting manager. I also tutor college students, helping them with accounting, Quickbooks and Microsoft Office Suite. I’ve worked all these years for other employers, have gained a vast amount of knowledge, and have given these employers my all, but now I want to work for myself – and for you.
I would always rather work smarter, not harder, and I take the time to learn and understand a task in order to figure out the most efficient way to get it done. I have walked into jobs not knowing much about their particular industry or their software, but I am a quick study and have learned and mastered each position’s software and specific accounting needs.
